Garden works

Garden and outdoor space winter-ready, in one visit.

In autumn we get your garden and outdoor space ready for winter: leaves gone, a last mow and pruning, terrace and driveway cleared of moss so nobody slips, the gutters empty and the garden furniture clean. So you find everything in order in spring.

Making the garden winter-ready

What we do

What making winter-ready involves

Clearing leaves from lawn, borders and gutters. A last mow and a last trim of the hedges, so they go into winter neat. Cutting back spent plants and tidying the borders. Protecting frost-sensitive plants in pots or bringing them inside if you wish. And a walk along fence, gate and drains, so the winter wind brings no surprises.

Terrace and driveway: no slippery surprises

Moss and green film are the biggest risk around a house in winter: a wet, green terrace or a driveway in the shade is dangerously slippery. We clean them thoroughly, down into the joints, and re-sand the joints. A wooden deck we clean at low pressure, so it goes into winter with its grip.

Gutters empty after the leaves have fallen

Full gutters overflow and soak the façade. After the leaves have fallen we empty and clean the gutters, as at a house with a slate roof in Duinbergen and an apartment building in Ostend. Mention the height of the property in your request.

Garden furniture and pool terrace

Whoever lets the garden furniture go into winter clean has less work in spring. We clean wood, plastic and woven furniture, and the terrace around the pool. For a second home we agree what happens while you are away, and you hear what has been done.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to have the garden made winter-ready?

Between mid-October and the end of November, after most of the leaves have fallen and before the first frost. Gutters preferably when the trees are bare.

Can it be done while I am away?

Yes. We agree beforehand what happens and how we access the garden, and afterwards you hear what has been done.

Do you take the leaves and clippings away?

Yes, or we shred them on site, as you prefer.

Is this also for an apartment with a terrace?

Yes. Then it concerns the terrace, the garden furniture and the drains; shared parts go through the building manager.

Can making winter-ready be part of a regular maintenance agreement?

Yes. Many owners combine a spring visit, the garden maintenance in season and the winter-ready visit in one agreement with one point of contact.
