Privacy policy
How Desaever Group handles the data you provide to us through this website.
Last updated on 12 October 2026. The Dutch version of this policy is the authoritative one.
1. Who is responsible?
The controller is Desaever Group, company number BE 1019.705.075.
For questions about privacy you can reach us via info@dgroup.be.
2. Which data do we process?
- Contact details: your name, and your phone number and/or e-mail address.
- Details about the work: the type of work, the type of property, the address of the property, the preferred timing, your description and the photos you add.
- Messages about your request: the e-mails you send us about it and the ones we send you. We keep their text with your request, so the whole conversation is in one place.
- Origin of the request: the page on which you completed the form and, if they are in the link, campaign codes (such as utm parameters) and the name of the website that referred you.
- Technical data: to limit abuse we briefly process an irreversibly encrypted (hashed) form of your IP address. The IP address itself is not kept with your request. Our hosting provider also processes technical log data to keep the site secure.
While you type the address, the form suggests street names. That list is part of our own website: what you type does not go to another service for it. Source of the street names: Digitaal Vlaanderen (street name register) and, for Sluis, the Dutch Kadaster (Basisregistratie Adressen).
3. What do we use it for?
- Handling your request, contacting you, preparing a quote and scheduling the work. These are steps you request yourself with a view to a possible contract (Article 6.1.b GDPR).
- Ensuring the operation and security of the website and preventing abuse (legitimate interest, Article 6.1.f GDPR).
- Visitor statistics, only if you give your consent (Article 6.1.a GDPR). See our cookie page.
We do not use your data for newsletters or advertising and we do not sell it.
To follow up requests smoothly, each request may automatically receive an internal priority score. It is based only on the work requested: the type of work, the location of the property, the size, the timing and the completeness of the request. Personal characteristics are not used. The score only determines the order of follow-up. Every request is reviewed by a member of staff and there is never an automatic refusal.
4. Who receives your data?
- The staff of Desaever Group who handle your request.
- Service providers who help us and only process your data on our instructions: Cloudflare (website hosting and secure storage of requests), FormSubmit (delivers the e-mails about your request to our mailbox) and our e-mail provider.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. This is done on the basis of appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
5. How long do we keep your data?
- Requests that do not lead to a job, including photos and documents: up to 24 months after the last contact. After that we delete them.
- Requests that do lead to a job: as long as needed for the work and the statutory retention periods, for example for accounting.
- Encrypted IP data for abuse prevention: a maximum of 24 hours.
- According to its own documentation, FormSubmit keeps forwarded messages for a maximum of 30 days.
6. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can also ask for your data to be transferred, and withdraw any consent given at any time. Contact us to do so. We reply within one month.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
7. Security
The website only works over a secure connection (HTTPS). Requests, photos and documents are not publicly accessible. Only the staff who handle requests can view them.
8. Changes
We may amend this policy, for example if the law or our way of working changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
If you contact us through WhatsApp, WhatsApp (Meta) also processes your data, under its own terms and privacy policy. We use your message and your number only to answer your question.
